Orioles and Baysox on Hometown Annapolis Station Again for 2016
The Baltimore Orioles Network has, once again, entered into a Radio Affiliation Agreement with local Annapolis station WNAV to carry the play by play of their games for the 2016 season.
The agreement includes regular season games, selected pre season games as well as any post season games in which the Orioles may participate.
The games with be heard on WNAV, 1430-AM as well as, in the City on 99.9FM. Meanwhile, WNAV will continue its relationship with the Orioles’ Minor League affiliate, Bowie Baysox, offering streaming of the play by play of all Baysox games on their website at www.1430wnav.com. When there is no conflict with the Orioles schedule, the Baysox games will be broadcast on air as well as streamed.
“We’re happy to continue our long relationship with the Orioles. It’s a great organization to be affiliated with and we’re expecting an exciting season on the field”, said Steve Hopp, V.P. and General Manager of the Annapolis station.
“If you love baseball, this is the place to listen. In addition to the Orioles, we’re looking forward to the Baysox picking up where they left off last season when they won the Championship.” added WNAV Program Director, Bill Lusby.
In the off season, the Orioles signed all but one of their Free-Agents, plus made some key acquisitions. Players have reported to Spring Training and will commence actual games on March 1st. The first broadcast Spring Training game on WNAV will be 1pm on Wednesday, March 2nd vs the Atlanta Braves.
WNAV is the local sports leader. In addition to carrying the Baltimore Orioles, and the Baysox, the station carries Navy Football, Navy Basketball and Navy Lacrosse, the Baltimore Ravens, selected games of the Bay Area Shuckers and numerous high school football and basketball games.
