Residential Energy Co-op

Lower Your Home's Monthly Utility Bills:
Join the Residential Energy Co-Op

Open to all employees of Chamber member organizations

CQI Associates created the Residential Energy Co-Op to help residents of Maryland, The District of Columbia, and Delaware save money on their utilities by providing the most competitive rates available for electricity and natural gas. In the past, you had to purchase natural gas or electricity from your local utility company at prices authorized by the state’s Public Service Commission.

You didn’t have a choice.

Thanks to deregulation, you may now purchase this service from any provider you want and immediately begin to reduce the costs of your utility bill.  CQI Associates has a unique business model: Instead of each individual household calling a third party supplier and negotiating rates based on that one home’s own load of kWh usage, CQI has pre-negotiated the most competitive rates in the marketplace, which are based on the volume of business the entire co-op brings to the supplier.

Your local utility (BGE, PEPCO, Alleghany Power or DelMarVa) continues to distribute power to your home, maintains the lines, pipes, and reads your meter. In case of an outage, they’ll handle the situation.

Nothing related to your billing will change. You continue to receive one bill from your utility, which will include the new third party supply charges. Clients on budget billing and Peak Rewards can remain on those programs.
