Of the three major shopping destinations in this part of the county, Arundel Mills is by far the largest. Located in Hanover at the intersection of Maryland Route 100 and Interstate 295, the Arundel Mills area is home to over 250 retailers.
The main mall is a value-shopping complex featuring 17 anchor stores and 225 specialty stores. The center houses merchants like Bass Pro, Bed Bath & Beyond, Best Buy, Last Call Neiman Marcus, H & M, and Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th, in addition to a 24-screen megaplex theater and a Medieval Times dinner theater. For a complete list of retailers, visit Arundel Mills Mall. Adjacent to the mall shoppers will find other major retailers, such as Costco. Numerous hotels also surround the Arundel Mills Mall, convenient for out-of-town visitors.
The new Maryland Live! gaming, dining, and entertainment complex is scheduled to open adjacent to Arundel Mills Mall in mid-2012. It is expected to be the state's highest revenue-generating gaming facility, featuring 4,750 slot and electric table games contributing funds for education and support of the Maryland horse racing industry, as well as county needs. Restaurants who have committed to the new project include The Cheesecake Factory, Bobby Flay, Obrycki's Seafood and Rams Head Live music venue. It is being developed by The Cordish Company, a Maryland-based, nationally-recognized leader in entertainment development.
At nearby Arundel Preserve, the mix of retailers, restaurants, offices and residences continues to grow. The recently-opened Hotel at Arundel Preserve offers comfortably-equipped rooms for the business traveler, 10,000 square feet of conference space to accommodate up to 500 guests, and dining at George Martin’s Grillfire.
