Advocates for the Odenton Town Center and other West County development issues, and to ensure the transportation and other infrastructure necessary to support our growing community (including Fort Meade) receives needed public support.

Legislative Committee

Todd Popham, Popham & Associates, Chairman

Meets every Monday at noon at the Chamber office while the General Assembly is in session
Establishes legislative priorities and reviews bills affecting the West County business community, identifies those requiring action by the Chamber, and coordinates Chamber testimony before the General Assembly.

Marketing Committee

Cheryl Hokanson, Impressive Promotional Products, Chairman

Meets the 2^nd Tuesday of the month at 10 a.m. at the Chamber office
Responsible for developing and overseeing the Chamber’s comprehensive marketing plan to enhance the Chamber “brand.” Evaluates current marketing efforts, including electronic media, and recommends improvements. Supports event and committee marketing efforts.

Offers networking and educational opportunities for members who have an interest in doing business with government agencies.

Small Business Council

Meets the 1^st Tuesday of the month at 8:30 a.m. at the Chamber office
Develops materials for the Business Resource Center in support of new, relocating, and expanding businesses, and supports the Chamber's “Buy Local” campaign.

Military Affairs Committee

Meets the 2^nd Thursday of the month at 9 a.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott Ft. Meade
Plans events in support of the personnel and families at Ft. Meade in an effort to build a stronger connection between the local business community and the Fort.

Program and Events Committee

Plans the Chamber’s monthly mixers, and provides suggestions for ongoing programs such as Tuesday Topics, and recommend new Chamber events.

Membership Growth Committee

Develops and implements strategic membership development plan, including sector analysis, benefits match, and prospect identification, and supports the Ambassador’s Club’s retention efforts.

Meets the 2^nd Tuesday of the month at 9 a.m. at McDonalds of Odenton
Serves as a liaison to new members, orienting them to Chamber activities, events and committees, and develops outreach programs to recognize existing members.

Education Committee

Meets the 1^st Tuesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. at the Chamber office
Provides support for area school programs, particularly signature program development, and plans the annual “LifeStart Arundel” workplace skills program.

West County Chamber Foundation

Dave Magayna, Gemini Financial Services, President

The 501(c)(3) subsidiary of the Chamber raises funds for educational, community improvement, and charitable purposes within the limits of its charter. It operates under the direction of a separate Board of Directors from the West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce.
