The West Anne Arundel County Chamber Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit affiliate of the West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce. It has its own Board of Directors, of which no more than half can serve on the Chamber Board of Directors. It was formed to support the educational and community efforts of the West County Chamber, and contributions to the Foundation are deductible as a charitable contribution.
Among the programs the Foundation has been involved with are:
- Fundraising for the KaBoom! playground built at Fort Meade’s Burba Lake Park as part of the Fort Meade Community Covenant Council
- Funding for Military Affairs Committee programs at Fort Meade (all funds dedicated for use at Fort Meade – no administrative fees are withheld)
- LifeStart Arundel – the Chamber’s annual workplace skills program for high school students from Arundel, Meade, and Old Mill High Schools
Efforts are currently underway to develop a civic improvement plan for the Odenton Town Center, which the Foundation is also expected to help fund.
For more information, or to make a contribution, contact David Magayna, Foundation Chairman, at 410-672-5500, or call the Chamber office at 410-672-3422.
